# 100 missiles a month: Ukraine warns of a new phase of attacks on business and infrastructure

Ukrainian leadership is warning of a significant shift in the tactics of Russian attacks. According to military experts, the enemy is capable of increasing the intensity of strikes to 100 ballistic missiles per month. The main wave of this strategy will target not only military facilities but also the civilian economy: warehouses, logistics centers, and production capacities.

### Strategy of strikes against the economy

Sergey "Flash" Beskrestnov, an ad hoc advisor to the President of Ukraine on issues of developing defense technology, stated that Russian forces are increasingly redirecting fire toward infrastructure objects. According to him, retail chains, manufacturing enterprises, and logistics hubs are under attack.

The expert explains the high intensity of strikes by Russia's use of accumulated reserves. However, the main threat lies not only in the quantity of munitions but also in the methods of intelligence gathering. According to Beskrestnov, Russian intelligence services are actively recruiting informants within Ukraine. For a reward, these individuals record warehouse operations, truck movements, and transport volumes, passing target coordinates to the enemy. "The enemy knows where our targets are, it's not a secret... Then no satellites or intelligence channels are needed," the advisor noted.

### Consequences of the night attack on Kyiv

Expert forecasts are confirmed by real events. On the night of August 5, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using 28 missiles and 115 drones. The main direction of the attack was the Kyiv region. Strikes hit the Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi, Desnyanskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the capital.

The consequences of the attack were serious: residential infrastructure was damaged, and fires broke out at warehouses. An ammonia leak occurred in the Holosiivskyi district, which was contained. One person died, and more than 20 were injured.

Key players in Ukrainian retail and logistics were hit. Companies such as "Epicentr", ROZETKA, "Nova Poshta", "Silpo", and NOVUS suffered damage.

### The problem of air defense shortage

A critical factor exacerbating the situation is the shortage of missiles for air defense systems. In particular, air defense forces were unable to intercept some ballistic missiles due to a lack of ammunition for Patriot systems.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that supplies of air defense missiles from Western partners have decreased threefold compared to previous periods, despite allies having stockpiles. At the same time, media reports emerged that US President Donald Trump refused to provide Ukraine with interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, even after a personal request from the Ukrainian leader. This shortage of defense means makes civilian objects and businesses vulnerable in the face of a growing threat.
