Today in East Rutherford, USA, the main event of the year in the world of football will take place — the final match of the 2026 World Cup. The national teams of Spain and Argentina will compete for the title of the strongest team on the planet. Experts and fans around the world have already made their bets, however, the opinion of professionals always carries special weight.

### Opinion of the former "Dynamo" footballer

Artem Kravets, a well-known Ukrainian footballer, former player of Kyiv "Dynamo" and the Ukrainian national team, shared his forecast. In an exclusive comment for Sport RBC.UA, the 37-year-old specialist revealed his expectations for the decisive match.

Despite the absence of global expectations regarding the outcome of the match, Kravets clearly defined his sympathy. He admitted that he would cheer for the Argentine team, as he likes it more than the Spanish national team. However, according to the former footballer, the outcome of the game could be decided in a matter of minutes.

"I have no expectations. I will cheer for Argentina, simply because I like this team more than Spain. If Spain scores first, then they will win this game," noted Artem Kravets.

### The teams' path to the final

Both opponents went through a difficult path to reach the decisive match in East Rutherford. The Argentine national team, led by Lionel Scaloni, demonstrated character and skill at all stages of the tournament.

In the group stage (Group J), the Argentines left no chance for the opponents, defeating Austria, Algeria, and Jordan. The harvest of three victories brought them 9 points and a confident exit to the playoffs from first place. In the knockout stage, the "albiceleste" defeated Cape Verde (3:2), Egypt (3:2), Switzerland (3:1), and in the semi-finals beat England with a score of 2:1.

The Spanish national team under the leadership of Luis de la Fuente also showed a high class. In the group, they won against Saudi Arabia and Uruguay, and also drew with Cape Verde. In the playoffs, the "Furia Roja" crushed Austria (3:0), minimally defeated Portugal (1:0), and then confidently passed Belgium (2:1) and France (2:0) in the semi-finals.

Today's match will be a test of strength for both teams, and, as Kravets noted, the first goal could become the decisive factor in the fight for the trophy.
