## Key Points

- Maximum repair fee for other damage reaches $1,499
- AppleCare+ reduces display repair cost to $99
- Pre-orders start October 16, 2026, starting at $1,999

Apple has published the estimated repair costs for its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, whose market release has sparked unprecedented interest among users and industry experts. The new foldable form factor features complex flexible display technology, which has directly impacted its post-warranty maintenance pricing.

### Out-of-Warranty Repair Costs

According to the published data, without an extended warranty, device owners will face substantial expenses. Repairing a damaged internal flexible screen on the iPhone Duo without an AppleCare+ subscription will cost $999, which is comparable to the price of a full-fledged flagship smartphone. Furthermore, the maximum price for addressing other severe accidental damage in U.S. service centers is set at a record $1,499.

### AppleCare+ Protection Program

To mitigate such financial risks, the manufacturer offers a specialized extended subscription called AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss, which also covers device theft or loss. The monthly subscription fee for this service is $19.99, the annual option is priced at $199.99, and a one-time payment for the entire coverage period is fixed at $399.

### Savings with Insurance Coverage

Having an active AppleCare+ subscription significantly changes the financial burden for the owner when a claim occurs. Specifically, standard battery replacement under this program is completely free of charge, while complex internal display repairs or the elimination of other accidental damage will cost only $99 per service request.

### Sales Launch and Market Outlook

Official pre-orders for the innovative foldable iPhone Duo will start tomorrow, October 16, 2026, with a base retail price starting at $1,999. The official retail release of the highly anticipated mobile device is scheduled for October 23, 2026, after which market analysts will be able to assess real demand.
