# African heat in Ukraine: +38 degrees, thunderstorms and meteorologists' warnings for June 28

In Ukraine tomorrow, June 28, extreme heat is expected — air temperatures will rise to +38 degrees. At the same time, short-term rains and thunderstorms are forecast in a number of regions. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

### Weather by region: where it will be hottest

Today, the country is mostly cloudy. In the eastern regions, as well as in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Crimea, short-term rains and local thunderstorms are possible. Precipitation is not expected in the rest of the territory.

Night temperatures will range from +16 to +21°C. During the day, the air will warm up to +29–34°C. However, in the western regions, as well as in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia and Odesa oblasts — there will be strong heat: +35–38°C. In the east of the country it will be cooler — from +23 to +28°C.

### Kyiv and region: no precipitation, but very warm

In the capital and Kyiv region on Sunday, slight cloudiness is expected, precipitation is not forecast. Night temperatures will be +19–21°C, during the day — +30–32°C. Residents are advised to take precautions at high temperatures.

### Meteorologists' warning: heat may reach +40

Earlier, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center had already warned about the approaching "African heat" and pointed out the regions where the temperature could exceed +40°C. This creates a serious strain on the power grid, transport and public health.

### Europe on fire: comparison with historical events

A significant part of Europe has already been engulfed by abnormal heat — temperatures are approaching +40°C. Countries on the continent are introducing emergency measures: limiting the operation of enterprises, closing parks, increasing the work of emergency services. Meteorologists compare the current situation with one of the most tragic weather events in modern history.

Residents of Ukraine are advised to follow forecasts, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, drink more water and do not leave children or elderly people unattended in the heat.
