Due to regular and prolonged air raid alerts, the game stretched for nearly eight hours, demanding colossal psychological and physical endurance from the players, coaching staffs, and referees. The fixture, which started in the afternoon, concluded late in the evening, treating fans to an incredible spectrum of emotions and an abundance of scoring chances. ### Background and Protracted Match Start Initially, the referee's whistle was scheduled for 1:00 PM in Kovalivka, but the tense situation in the country made its adjustments to the schedule. Due to an announced air raid alert, the start of the match had to be delayed by forty minutes. When the teams finally took to the pitch and began battling, it seemed that the worst was behind them, but nature and circumstances had much more severe trials in store for the participants. In the 25th minute, the hosts opened the scoring: Oleksandr Demchenko delivered a precise cross from the right flank, and Denys Ndukve masterfully headed the ball into the opponent's net. ### A Sobering Opponent Response and Long Pause Kolos's lead did not last long. Just eight minutes later, Epitsentr players showed character and leveled the score. Experienced Yevhen Zaporozhye made a key interception in the central zone, rapidly advanced forward, and gave a precise cutting pass to Artem Kozak. The latter calmly outplayed the goalkeeper, evening the numbers on the scoreboard. Immediately after this episode, an alarm signal sounded, forcing the teams to urgently evacuate to shelters. This forced pause lasted for almost four hours, turning a classic football match into a true test of grit and resilience. ### Late Drama and a Winning Brace The evening resumption of the game took place in a fierce tactical battle where the price of a mistake was incredibly high. The tension was broken in the 79th minute when the match referee awarded a penalty kick to the visitors' goal. Oleksandr Demchenko stepped up to the spot and confidently converted the shot, scoring his team's second goal and putting Kolos ahead. The final nail in the coffin was driven in during added time, in the 90+4th minute. Epitsentr's goalkeeper, Nikita Fedotov, went all-in, trying to help his teammates save the game, but made a fatal mistake when rushing out of his goal. Denys Ndukve took full advantage of this gift, completing a lightning-fast counter-attack and scoring his second goal of the match to seal the final score. ### Aftermath and Future Fixtures Calendar This hard-fought victory allowed Kolos to earn crucial points in the UPL standings and boost their self-confidence ahead of the next tough challenge. Already on October 17, the Kovalivka club faces an away match against formidable Shakhtar Donetsk, kicking off at 6:00 PM. In turn, Epitsentr will try to rehabilitate themselves for the disappointing defeat in an away fixture against FC Karpaty Lviv, scheduled for October 18, also at 6:00 PM. Such marathon matches once again highlight the courage of Ukrainian athletes and organizers who continue to hold competitions under the extreme conditions of the present time.
