According to beliefs recorded by researchers, this could bring serious trouble or even death to the person for whom the outfit was being made. The very beginning of the sewing process was associated with misfortune, so this work was tried to be postponed to another day. On the other hand, working in the garden or field on Saturday was perceived as an absolutely favorable and useful occupation that helped with harvesting.### New beginnings and exceptions to the rules

 Another persistent omen concerned new businesses and long-term endeavors. It was believed that any work started on Saturday would drag on for a very long time, and its final result would turn out to be unsuccessful. Nevertheless, folk wisdom made exceptions for two critically important activities: it was permitted to hold the beginning of the harvest and lay the foundation of a new house for housing construction. Thus, even strict restrictions had their reasonable limits and adaptive exceptions.### Completion of affairs and personal hygiene

After completing all household chores, the peasants tried to finish important matters started during the week, after which they devoted time to themselves. People thoroughly washed themselves, put on clean festive shirts, men necessarily shaved, and girls combed their hair.
