# Andriy Isayenko: from 'Poroshenko supporter' to Zelenskyy backer. Why the actor doesn't believe in political reform and why Poroshenko won't return

Andriy Isayenko, a star of Ukrainian films and TV series, revealed his political views in an interview with RBC-Ukraine conducted by Slava Demin. He spoke about a personal meeting with former President Petro Poroshenko and explained why his attitude towards Volodymyr Zelenskyy has changed.

### Politics: wife's faith and husband's skepticism

The actor admitted that he had repeatedly considered a possible political career but quickly discarded the idea. In his opinion, the existing system cannot be transformed by the efforts of one person or even a small group.

"My wife wants to go into politics herself and change the system. She is like that in this regard. She believes in it, but I don't. I think the system is hard to break. There are more of them," Isayenko noted, referring to his wife, director Olesya Morgunets. According to the actor, it is she who is ready to try her hand at running the state, while he himself is more pessimistic.

### Changing views on Zelenskyy

Special attention in the conversation was paid to Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Isayenko, who previously called himself a "porohobot" (a supporter of Petro Poroshenko), admitted that his attitude towards the current head of state has undergone significant changes since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

The actor emphasized that he did not "change shoes" in the literal sense, but simply saw a real transformation of the president's personality. "I don't like talking about politics, actually. I can't say that I 'changed shoes'. I just saw that the person changed and I like this trend. The war changed the person specifically," the artist explained.

Today, Isayenko is focused on the present, not the past. "Why should I think about Poroshenko if there is a present, there is a working person. Let's see what will happen next, who will come new and choose so that there is some choice," he added.

### Meeting with Poroshenko and the politician's future

Separately, Andriy spoke about the possible return of Petro Poroshenko to big politics. Despite the former president's personal ambitions, the actor considers his return to power unlikely. "Well, whatever his ambitions are, but I think it won't happen," Isayenko is confident.

Recalling his personal acquaintance with Poroshenko, the actor said that it took place after the release of the film "Kyborgy" (Cyborgs), in which he played the role of fighter Subbota. The meeting took place in an informal setting: "It was such an acquaintance. After 'Kyborgy' we all sat together, he gathered us, we ate pilaf," the actor shared details of that meeting.
