Former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua has officially confirmed his next fight. The Briton will step into the ring on Saturday, July 25, to face 35-year-old Albanian boxer Christian M'Pumbu. For Joshua, this bout will be a crucial step on the path to a potential title showdown with Tyson Fury.

### A Tough Year and the Determination to Return

Anthony Joshua last stepped into the ring in December 2025, where he knocked out YouTuber Jake Paul in the sixth round. Following this victory, the Briton traveled to Nigeria to visit his family. However, the trip turned into a tragedy: Joshua was involved in a serious car accident that claimed the lives of two of his trainers. The boxer himself miraculously survived, largely because he had moved from the front passenger seat to the back.

Against the backdrop of these tragic events, rumors began to circulate in the sports world that Joshua's career might be over. However, the desire to end his career on a high note and the prospect of a fight with Tyson Fury motivated the Briton to return to training. At 36 years old, Joshua joined Oleksandr Usyk's team for a complete physical and mental reset.

### Who is Christian M'Pumbu?

Joshua's opponent will be Christian M'Pumbu. On paper, the Albanian looks like a dangerous opponent: he stands 196 cm tall and has 20 wins, all by knockout. M'Pumbu is also known for his unconventional fighting style. However, experts recommend not overestimating his achievements.
