# Apple Delays Smart Glasses Announcement: Privacy Priority and New Plans for 2027

Apple has made a strategic decision to postpone the announcement of its first smart glasses. The company, known for its attention to detail, decided not to rush the gadget's release to avoid potential scandals related to user privacy. This move is a response to the issues already faced by competitor Meta.

### Schedule Change: From 2025 to 2027

Originally, the presentation of the smart glasses, codenamed N50, was planned for the end of this year, with a subsequent release in early 2027. However, Apple's leadership has revised these timelines. The company now aims to unveil the new product at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which will take place in June 2027.

This delay will allow engineers and programmers to prepare a more refined product, as well as give third-party developers time to build an ecosystem of applications for the new device.

### Lessons from Competitors and Privacy Protection

The main factor influencing the postponement is the desire to create flawless data protection mechanisms. Analysts note that Meta's smart glasses have already faced restrictions: their use is banned in various courts, schools, and public venues worldwide due to concerns about covert video recording.

Apple aims to avoid repeating such scenarios. Company specialists are testing prototypes that will process information exclusively locally, on the device itself, excluding data transmission to the cloud. Furthermore, the gadget will not use facial recognition technology.

Technical solutions are also being considered where cameras will serve only as tools for AI spatial analysis, without the ability to save photos or video recordings.

### New Watches and Partnership with Ford

Parallel to the work on the glasses, Apple is finalizing the testing of three new smartwatch models. In the near future, the release of the Apple Watch Series 12 in two modifications, as well as the flagship Apple Watch Ultra 4 (codenamed N240), is expected.

The external design of these devices will undergo only minimal changes, however, users can expect a significant performance boost and expanded health monitoring features inside.

In the automotive technology sector, Apple has announced a strategic partnership with Ford. The Apple Maps navigation service will be integrated directly into the manufacturer's vehicle onboard computers, operating independently of the CarPlay system.

### Ecosystem Update and Leasing

The company is also preparing major changes in financial services. A new Apple Upgrade program is launching with the support of the Klarna service. It will replace the current iPhone upgrade scheme and offer users new terms for acquiring technology.

In the computer segment, Apple plans to update its entire Mac lineup, including Air, Pro, iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio models. Simultaneously, an update to iOS 26.6 is being developed, which will optimize smartphone performance to launch the new version of the Siri artificial intelligence in iOS 27.
