The court in Wrocław has decided to detain two men for three months, suspected of a brutal attack on Ukrainian citizens. The incident, which has sparked widespread resonance in Polish society, has been classified by the prosecution as hooliganism committed on the grounds of national hatred. The suspects face a lengthy prison sentence.

### Chronology of events and the prosecution's version

The suspects were detained on Monday evening. During the interrogation, neither of the detainees admitted their guilt. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are continuing the search for a third participant in the attack, who is currently at large.

According to Prosecutor Lencka, the physical altercation lasted several minutes. According to the investigation, the conflict began inside a retail premises, after which the participants moved outside. It was this street phase of the fight that was captured on amateur footage, which was subsequently published on the internet.

The investigation emphasizes that the video circulating on social media depicts only the final part of the incident. To establish the full picture of what happened, the police seized recordings from the store's surveillance cameras. This will allow them to reconstruct the chronology of events from the beginning of the conflict to its climax.

### The defense's version and the context of the case

The defense's position differs radically from the prosecution's version. The lawyer for one of the suspects, Adam S., claims that the dispute arose from everyday circumstances and had nothing to do with the nationality of the victims. The defense insists that there are no signs of national hatred in the actions of their client.

The attack on the Ukrainian couple occurred on July 27. According to media reports and social media posts, three young people brutally beat a girl and her boyfriend. The reaction of Polish law enforcement was prompt: two suspects were detained on the day of the incident and are currently in custody by court order.
