# Attack on the Afipsk Refinery: Explosions and Fire at a Key Russian Military Logistics Facility

On the night of July 14, Ukrainian defense forces struck the Afipsk Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai. Several powerful explosions were heard on the site, followed by a large-scale fire. According to OSINT channels, the aftermath of the attack has been visually confirmed — photos show traces of fire and smoke.

### Key Military Infrastructure Object

The Afipsk Refinery is one of the strategically important enterprises in southern Russia. Its design capacity is 6.25 million tons of oil per year. The plant processes raw materials from Western Siberia and the Volga-Urals fields, receiving them via pipelines and railway lines.

The plant's products — gasoline, diesel fuel, vacuum gas oil, fuel oil, sulfur, and other components — are used, among other things, for the needs of the Russian occupation army. This is why the plant has become a regular target of attacks since the beginning of the full-scale war.

This is not the first attack on the Afipsk Refinery. On the night of June 11, the enterprise was hit by drones — then there was also a strong fire and thick smog. Since then, the facility has repeatedly become a target of drone strikes due to its role in supplying fuel to the Russian economy and military logistics.

The Afipsk Refinery is a key element of the oil refining infrastructure in southern Russia. Its operation directly affects the availability of fuel in the region, including supplies for military needs. Repeated attacks indicate that the Ukrainian side considers this facility a priority target within the strategy of weakening the enemy's logistical chains.
