The reason for such a sharp tone is another strike on the facilities of the Azerbaijani oil company SOCAR, located in Ukraine. ### Protest Note and New Incidents According to the press service of the MFA of Azerbaijan, a note of protest was presented to the Russian ambassador. The main trigger was the destruction of a SOCAR gas station in the Mykolaiv region, which occurred on the evening of July 5. Diplomats emphasize that this is not an isolated incident but part of a series of incidents damaging Azerbaijani interests. According to the MFA, earlier during hostilities, the company's facilities in the Odesa region were damaged. As a result of the strikes, significant material damage was caused, and SOCAR employees were also injured. Furthermore, Baku recorded damage to buildings belonging to the company as a result of actions by the Russian armed forces. ### Demands for Investigation and Protection In response to these events, Azerbaijan has called on Moscow to provide official explanations. Baku demands a comprehensive investigation into all the mentioned incidents and strongly reminds of the need to comply with international obligations to protect civilian objects and diplomatic missions. Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, in his statement, emphasized that Russia has attacked energy facilities and the building of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine three times. In response to these provocations, the country made special statements, informed the ambassador, and submitted the corresponding diplomatic note. ### Incident at the Embassy in Kyiv Special attention during the meeting was paid to the incident that occurred in November 2025. The Russian ambassador was summoned to the building of the MFA of Azerbaijan to express protest regarding the impact of an Iskander missile on the territory of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kyiv. This case became another reason for serious diplomatic tension between the two countries.
