# Batman 2 Delayed Again: New Release Dates and Full Schedule Changes at Warner Bros.

Fans of the DC Studios universe and followers of the Dark Knight have received another confirmation: the wait for the continuation of Batman's story will be longer. Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios have officially postponed the premiere of the film "Batman 2" to February 18, 2028. Previously, the release was scheduled for October 1, 2027, and even earlier for October 3, 2025.

### Why the release date was postponed

The first postponement occurred due to the writers' and actors' strikes in Hollywood in 2023, which significantly slowed down production. Now, the studio explains the new date as a necessity to complete post-production. Additionally, the February release falls on a long holiday weekend in the US, which could positively impact box office earnings.

Interestingly, the new date returns the film to the same period of the year when the first part was released. In 2022, Matt Reeves' "Batman" started very successfully: $134 million in the US and over $770 million in worldwide box office.

### What is changing in Warner Bros.' schedule

The postponement of "Batman 2" is part of a major update to the studio's release schedule. On the freed-up date — October 1, 2027 — a science fiction film by J.J. Abrams, "The Big Other Side," starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega, will now be released. The film will be shown in IMAX format and will also have a two-week run in IMAX 70mm format.

For J.J. Abrams, this will be his first directorial work since the release of "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" in 2019.

Changes have also affected other studio projects:

- The thriller "Panic Alert" by Sam Esmail has been moved from February 26 to April 9, 2027.

- The horror film "La Llorona's Revenge," on the contrary, will be released earlier — on February 26 instead of April 9, 2027.

### The "Batman 2" team remains the same

Despite the change in the premiere date, the creative team of the film has not changed. Matt Reeves will direct again, and Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell will return to their roles. Additionally, Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan will join the cast.

Thus, although fans will have to wait a little longer, the quality and scale of the project remain high. And the updated Warner Bros. schedule opens up new opportunities for other major premieres.
