# Battle for the Elite: 'Oleksandriya' Gets a Second Chance, 'Kudrovka' Plays at Home

The Ukrainian Premier League has officially determined the schedule and pairs for the play-off matches that will decide the fate of the elite division participants for the 2026/27 season. The draw and calendar are already known, and the intrigue is at its peak.

### Unexpected Turn for 'Oleksandriya'

The situation with the play-off matches this year has its own unique specifics. According to the standard regulations, the teams that finished in 13th and 14th places were supposed to fight for their right to stay in the UPL. However, the scenario changed this season due to the withdrawal of Lviv's 'Rukh' from the championship.

This allowed 'Oleksandriya', which finished in 15th place, to avoid direct relegation and get a chance in the playoffs. Their opponent will be the team that takes 3rd place in the First League. Currently, Kyiv's 'Livyi Bereh' or Odesa's 'Chornomorets' are vying for this position.

### 'Kudrovka' vs 'Aghrobiznes'

The second pair of play-off matches has already been formed. 'Kudrovka' (14th place in the UPL) will face the team that took 4th place in the First League. This position is guaranteed for Volochysk's 'Aghrobiznes', as Chernivtsi's 'Bukovyna' has already won the tournament early and cannot drop below first place.

### Home Field Advantage

As a result of the draw, both representatives of the elite — 'Oleksandriya' and 'Kudrovka' — have the right to play the first matches at their stadiums. This is a significant advantage that could play a decisive role in the fight to retain their status in the UPL.

The final tournament bracket and exact start times of the games will be approved after the completion of the 30th round of the First League, which will take place from May 30 to June 2. The remaining names of opponents and the distribution of places will be known on June 1.
