# Ben Gurion on the Brink of Collapse: Israel Refuses to Accept Additional US Aircraft Due to Threat to 50,000 Passengers

A sharp logistical drama is unfolding at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, which could leave tens of thousands of travelers without tickets. Israel has officially refused to accept additional US Air Force tankers exceeding the agreed limit, leading to a critical shortage of parking spaces.

### Conflict of Interest: Military vs. Civilian

The situation has intensified against the backdrop of escalating tensions with Iran. Consequently, the US has suspended the withdrawal of its military equipment from the region, resulting in an accumulation of American tankers on Israeli territory. According to the Ynet portal, if American aircraft do not begin to leave the airport, up to 50,000 tickets for regular flights could be at risk of cancellation.

Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev has taken a hard line, banning the landing of additional aircraft beyond the established limit. According to her directive, only 20 American tankers are permitted to park at the civilian airport. All other aircraft must be based at military bases to free up space for commercial transport.

### Threat to the Summer Season

The direct cause of the crisis lies in recent events: amidst strikes on Persian Gulf countries, four additional US Air Force tankers were forced to land at Ben Gurion, disrupting the balance. Due to a lack of parking spaces for civilian aircraft, the Airport Authority has warned of possible cancellations of about 10 flights per day, starting July 23.

Experts note that delaying the withdrawal of American tankers from the airport threatens major schedule disruptions. If the situation is not resolved soon, passengers planning trips to Israel or transit flights through Tel Aviv will face mass ticket cancellations.
