## 🎯 Key Points

- Trubin is under contract until 2028, but the club wants an early renegotiation
- The goalkeeper has lost his first-team status this season
- A winter sale is possible if he rejects the new terms

Portuguese football club Benfica is looking to solidify its position regarding 25-year-old Ukrainian national team goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin. Although the player's current employment agreement runs until the summer of 2028, the Lisbon management is keen to determine the player's future in advance by offering him updated terms. This decision is driven by a desire to avoid long-term uncertainty and retain one of the highest-paid members of the squad.

### Squad Situation and Performance

At present, Anatoliy Trubin has faced intense competition within the club, leading to the loss of his status as the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper. During the 2026 season, he has played only three matches for the Lisbon side, conceding two goals and keeping two clean sheets. Statistical data and media reports also suggest that the goalkeeper's market value has decreased by 20% compared to the previous reporting period.

### Transfer Outlook

Benfica's leadership is taking a pragmatic approach: if the Ukrainian legionnaire rejects the contract extension offer, the club may put him on the transfer list as early as winter 2026. This would allow them to minimize financial risks and generate revenue from the player's sale while his market value remains at a significant level. ### Contradictory Data

There is a discrepancy in how different sources interpret the club's intentions. While some media outlets report that Benfica is only preparing an offer, other publications claim that a formal contract extension proposal has already been sent to the player. No consensus regarding the current status of negotiations has been reached as of October 3, 2026.
