# Black smoke over Crimea: Ukrainian forces confirm strike on strategic oil depot near Kerch

Against the backdrop of the prolonged war in Crimea, strikes on the region's critical infrastructure continue. The Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have officially confirmed a successful attack on a major oil depot in the Kerch area, as well as damage to a maritime terminal in Feodosia.

### Strike on the transshipment point in Lenino

The main target of the operation was the "Semikolodezyanskaya" oil depot, located in the settlement of Yedi-Kuyu (known as Lenino in the Russian administrative system). The facility is located approximately 200 kilometers from the line of contact; however, its strategic importance for the Russian army is difficult to overestimate.

According to Ukrainian intelligence services, occupying forces actively use this depot as a key logistics hub. Here, fuel oil, diesel fuel, and bitumen are stored and subsequently transported. The depot's infrastructure includes nine tanks with a capacity ranging from 700 to 3,000 cubic meters each. It is here that tankers are loaded and then sent to occupied territories in Crimea and Ukraine to meet the needs of the Russian army.

### Repeat strike on Feodosia

Parallel to the attack on the Kerch facility, Middle-strike SOF units of the AFU struck the oil terminal in Feodosia. This facility is also a crucial link in the fuel supply chain. The terminal grounds house seven large-capacity tanks—10,000 and 20,000 cubic meters respectively.

It is important to note that this is not the first attack on the Feodosia terminal. Previously, the facility had been struck multiple times, and according to available data, only a few intact tanks remain at this time. Sequential attacks indicate the systematic work of Ukrainian units to disable the enemy's energy infrastructure.

### Reactions and fact-checking

The Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet commented on the situation regarding fires at fuel and energy complex facilities. The Ukrainian side, in turn, described the objectives and tasks of the operation in detail, emphasizing that the strikes were carried out by Middle-strike SOF units of the AFU.

The editorial board of the portal Crimea.Realities notes that under conditions of active hostilities and lack of access to the facilities on the ground, it is impossible to independently verify information about the scale of destruction and the exact number of damaged tanks. Nevertheless, confirmation from the Special Operations Forces makes the fact of the attack credible.
