# Blackout in Crimea: Consequences of the Strike on Substations and Logistics Paralysis

On July 2, a major accident occurred in the power system of the Crimean Peninsula. Electricity supply disappeared in a number of regions, followed by the loss of internet. The cause of the disruptions was an attack by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the peninsula's critical infrastructure.

Information about the incident was confirmed in the Telegram channel "Crimean Wind", cited by RBC-Ukraine. According to the latest data, the western and northern districts of Crimea were affected.

### Massive fires in the Saki district

The partial blackout was the result of damage to two powerful substations located in the Saki district. After the attack by Ukrainian military forces, massive fires broke out at the facilities, leading to power outages in adjacent areas.

In the Bakhchisarai district, where the energy situation was most tense, local authorities were forced to introduce a power cut schedule. To balance the load in the region, a "3 hours on, 3 hours off" scheme is in effect.

### Logistics collapse: Wildberries stops operations

The consequences of the energy collapse quickly affected commercial activities. Local residents report that dozens, and possibly hundreds, of pickup points (PVZ) for the largest marketplace, Wildberries, have stopped working in Crimea.

In announcements posted on maps and social media, employees of the points indicate a complete stoppage of work: there is neither electricity nor internet. This has led to a temporary paralysis of logistics and the inability to receive orders.

### Synchronized strikes on Russian territory

On the night of July 2, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out coordinated operations not only in Crimea. On the same day, one of the largest oil refineries (OR) in Russia caught fire.

Previously, during similar operations, Ukrainian troops struck oil refineries in Ufa and a military plant in Penza. RBC-Ukraine has already published the first photo and video materials demonstrating the scale of the fires and the consequences of the attacks on Russian infrastructure.
