Bogomolets National Medical University has officially approved tuition fees for applicants entering in 2026. For prospective students planning to dedicate their lives to medicine, the news is disheartening: prices for popular majors have risen by an average of 50–62% compared to the previous year.

RBC-Ukraine reports that traditional rating favorites — "Medicine with in-depth English language study," "Dentistry," and classic "Medicine" — once again top the list of the most expensive fields of study.

### Leaders in price increases

The most significant price surge was recorded for the "Dentistry" specialty. Tuition for this program rose from 65,000 hryvnias in 2025 to 105,000 hryvnias in 2026. This is one of the most substantial increases in the university's fee structure.

Significant growth also affected "Pediatrics." Here, the contract fee increased by exactly 50% — from 61,600 hryvnias to 92,400 hryvnias per course.

### Budget options and the college

Among the most affordable specialties were "Nursing (Optometry)" and "Biotechnology and Bioengineering." Tuition for these programs will cost applicants 52,300 and 52,500 hryvnias, respectively.

Tuition at the Medical College for the "Dentistry" specialty (Professional Junior Bachelor) is also 52,300 hryvnias. Notably, even this program, considered one of the most affordable, has increased in price by almost 60% over the year.

### General trend in higher education

The rise in education costs in Kyiv is not limited to the medical university. V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has also updated its rates for the 2026–2027 academic year, raising contract fees by almost 40%.

At Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, prices for 2026 jumped by almost 27%. Meanwhile, the most expensive specialty at KNU now costs 119,000 hryvnias per course, making it one of the most expensive fields of study in the country.
