# Bread, eggs, and milk: how prices changed in Ukrainian supermarkets on June 24

Consumers in Ukraine have noticed changes in price tags on the shelves of popular retail chains. As of June 24, RBC-Ukraine data records a redistribution of prices for basic food items: from bakery products to dairy goods. While some items have become more expensive, others have, conversely, become more affordable.

### Bread: the return of budget offers

The most noticeable changes occurred in the bakery products category. The Auchan chain adjusted its offer, bringing back sliced white wheat bread "Formula Smaku" (weighing 350 g) to the shelves at a price of 14.50 UAH. This is a significant decrease compared to previous figures, when the cost of half a loaf of wheat bread in this chain reached 21.30 UAH. In other major chains, the price of bread remained at the previous level, undergoing no changes.

### Cereals: "Silpo" leads in affordability

The cereal market demonstrates stability, although the price spread between chains remains. The "Silpo" chain remains the absolute leader in buckwheat affordability. Thanks to its budget product line, the retailer maintains prices at mid-week levels. At the same time, in other supermarkets, price tags for buckwheat continue to exceed the 65 UAH per kilogram mark, making the purchase less profitable for the consumer.

### Eggs: dynamics of growth and decline

The situation with chicken eggs is characterized by divergent dynamics. The Auchan chain, which previously held the palm of primacy for the lowest cost, increased the price of individual items from 2.90 UAH to 3.10 UAH. Thus, a dozen eggs in this chain now costs 31 UAH. In contrast, price reductions for dozens of eggs were recorded in the Novus and "Silpo" chains, making them more attractive to buyers.

### Milk and butter: targeted changes

Milk prices in most retail outlets mirror the figures of the previous day, demonstrating high stability. The exception was the ATB chain, where a price reduction of 10 kopecks was recorded for a 450 g pack. A similar situation is observed with sunflower oil in 0.5 l packages: prices are generally stable, with the exception of the Auchan chain, where the private label increased by 10 kopecks. At the same time, the cheapest offer in the oil segment remains in Auchan, while the highest is recorded in Novus for the "Oleina" brand.
