# Britain and Germany Launch Secret Program to Develop Missile for War Against Russia

![British and German military strategists discuss a secret program to develop a missile to counter Russia](https://xab.info/media/2026/07/21/britaniya-i-germaniya-sozdayut-raketu-dlya-voiny-s-rossiey/britaniya-i-germaniya-sozdayut-raketu-dlya-voiny-s-rossiey-1.webp)

The United Kingdom and Germany have joined forces to implement an ambitious secret project aimed at creating a new class of weaponry. As part of the **Deep Precision Strike** program, London and Berlin plan to develop long-range missiles designed to ensure Europe's defense in the event of a conflict escalation with Russia.

### Characteristics of the New Weaponry

According to information that has become public, the key objective of the project is to create a DPS missile with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers. Such a range will allow strikes against strategically important enemy targets, specifically supply lines extending far beyond border zones.

Development is proceeding under strict secrecy; however, sources in the defense industry confirm that the project is based on the synergy of the two countries: Germany provides the financial base, while the UK contributes its experience in designing high-tech weaponry.

### Implementation Schedule and Strategic Goals

The official plan assumes the completion of all development and implementation stages by 2034. However, despite London assessing the current pace of work as satisfactory, both countries recognize the need to accelerate processes. An eight-year wait for ready-made weaponry seems too long against the backdrop of current geopolitical tension.

For the British side, this project holds significant strategic importance. London views the creation of DPS as a step towards reducing Europe's dependence on US military support. The emergence of its own long-range weaponry is expected to become a symbol of the growing independence of the European defense sector.

### Context of Armament Development

The development of missile technologies is taking place against the backdrop of active work on new systems in other countries of the region. For example, in Ukraine, the creation and implementation of new types of weaponry continues: from the "Pegasus" UCAV capable of overcoming complex swampy terrain, to the demonstration of the Barracuda unmanned systems. Additionally, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially codified and approved the use of the "Zmei Mini Strike" reconnaissance-strike UCAV, equipped with a grenade launcher.
