London's Arsenal and 28-year-old Newcastle defensive midfielder Bruno Guimarães have fully agreed on personal terms for a contract. The Brazilian is ready to move to the capital, however, the deal has not yet been completed due to the stance of the player's current club.

### Newcastle stands up to Londoners' interests

Despite the fact that the footballer has already given his consent, the main obstacle remains Newcastle. The management of the "Toon" is firmly determined to keep one of the team's leaders in their squad and currently rejects offers from rivals. Guimarães' current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2028, which gives Newcastle strong leverage in negotiations.

Arsenal is preparing a new official offer, the amount of which will be £70 million. Previously, the Londoners had already tried to agree on a transfer, making a verbal request for £55 million plus £10 million in bonuses, but this offer was rejected.

At the "Gunners", they understand that even a sum of £70 million may prove insufficient to satisfy Newcastle's ambitions, however, this step is necessary to activate the official stage of negotiations and demonstrate the seriousness of intentions.

### Why Arteta wants Guimarães

The head coach of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, personally insists on signing the Brazilian. The specialist is convinced that Guimarães will ideally strengthen the central line of the London team, adding the necessary balance, ball control, and creativity.

The player's statistics speak for themselves. Playing for Newcastle since 2022, Bruno has proven himself as one of the strongest midfielders in the English Premier League. To his credit are 153 official matches, 30 goals scored, and 26 assists.
