# Budanov warns Ukrainians about the consequences of attacks on military personnel: 'Who will protect you?'

The Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, issued a stern warning to citizens regarding the consequences of attacks on military personnel. In his Telegram message, he urged society to consider how the escalation of violence against the army could end.

### "Who will protect you tomorrow?"

Budanov used direct and vivid comparisons to convey the seriousness of the situation. He stated that citizens who today strip and beat representatives of their own army must understand who will remain to protect them tomorrow. According to the Head of the GUR, the enemy army may apply the same tactics against the civilian population if internal support for the armed forces is undermined.

"If today you strip and beat a serviceman of your own army, think about who will protect you tomorrow from the enemy army, which will also beat and strip clothes, but from you," RBC-Ukraine quotes Budanov's statement.

### Reaction to the incident in Lviv

The statement came against the backdrop of a high-profile incident in Lviv, where a crowd of local residents attacked a vehicle of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC). The clash occurred at the intersection of Chervona Kalyna Avenue and Kolomyiska Street during mobilization activities.

According to videos published online, passersby began to interfere with the work of the military, which escalated into a conflict. The crowd surrounded the official vehicle, and men, shouting "Shame!", overturned it and began to smash it. Budanov emphasized that he expects a fair reaction from law enforcement agencies to these events.

### The problem in the context of other regions

The situation in Lviv is not isolated. Earlier, there were reports of inspections at TRCs in Mykolaiv and Odesa, initiated after appeals by people's deputies. The media also discussed a major scandal involving the TRC in Kryvyi Rih, which ended after government intervention. These events indicate growing tension in society regarding mobilization and the interaction of citizens with military structures.
