On November 2, journalist Roger Friedman published a short piece in Showbiz411 suggesting that British actor Callum Turner could be the next James Bond. As of November 3, Amazon MGM Studios has not announced a new actor for agent 007, meaning information about Turner's casting remains unconfirmed and is strictly speculative. ### A Rumor, Not an Official Statement Friedman's headline and text explicitly state that this is a rumor: «Word is, Callum Turner is the next James Bond,» with the actor's name followed by a question mark. The author did not name sources for this information, did not cite the studio, and provided no comments from Turner's representatives. Separately, the journalist suggested that Dua Lipa could perform the main theme song for the film, though he explicitly presented this idea as his own vision rather than an announced involvement by the singer. ### What Is Known About Casting From Official Data In an official statement on May 14, Amazon MGM Studios confirmed the search for a new Bond has begun, explaining it does not intend to comment on specific casting details until the appropriate time. On October 22, TheWrap reported, citing unnamed insiders, that Callum Turner, Jack Lowden, Josh O'Connor, and one other undisclosed actor received offers to do final screen tests. This report concerned the pool of candidates for the role and did not confirm a final decision in Turner's favor. ### The New Bond Film Team According to available reports, Denis Villeneuve will direct the new James Bond film. The script is being written by Steven Knight, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman serving as producers. This will be the next film in the main Bond franchise following «No Time to Die», which concluded Daniel Craig's run in 2021. ### Why It Is Important to Distinguish Rumor From Fact A clear gap exists between Friedman's publication and official studio statements: the journalist uses the phrasing «word is», while Amazon MGM Studios has not confirmed the choice of lead actor. Turner previously appeared only among candidates for final screen tests, which is not equivalent to being cast in the role. Until an official studio announcement, any reports about the new Bond, including potential soundtrack names, should be treated as unconfirmed rumors. ## Fact-Check & Sources - [Каллума Тернера назвали новым Джеймсом Бондом: есть ли официальное подтверждение](https://wave.rbc.ua/ukr/stars/kalluma-ternera-nazvali-novim-dzheymsom-bondom-1793692386.html) - The primary source confirms the fact of Friedman's rumor publication, the lack of official studio confirmation, and TheWrap's data on screen tests; Turner's actual casting for the role is unconfirmed. ## FAQ ### Has Callum Turner officially become the new James Bond?
