## 🎯 Key Points

- Dani Carvajal's transfer from Real Madrid to Getafe canceled
- La Liga blocked the deal over a 400,000 euro salary
- The regulator deemed the salary unrealistic compared to past earnings
- The future of the 34-year-old defender remains open

The transfer of former Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal to Getafe has been definitively canceled. Despite successfully passing his medical examination, the parties failed to finalize the transfer due to the strict financial control rules of the Spanish championship.

### Transfer Collapse Due to Financial Restrictions

The move of 34-year-old defender Dani Carvajal to Getafe will not happen, although the club was very close to completing the deal. Earlier, club president Angel Torres assured that the player had already passed a medical examination, but later confirmed the complete collapse of the agreements. The main reason was La Liga's financial restrictions. Championship experts recognized the annual salary of 400,000 euros offered to Carvajal as "unrealistic" against the background of his previous earnings at Real Madrid, where he earned 10 million euros a year. Such rules apply to prevent hidden payments and control the real level of salaries in clubs.

### Legendary Legacy at the Madrid Club

Carvajal is a graduate of the Real Madrid academy and gave 13 seasons to the Madrid club, playing 450 matches and scoring 14 goals. He played his last match for Los Blancos on May 23, 2026, against Athletic Bilbao (4:2). In total, the defender won 27 trophies with the team, including six Champions League titles. The last years of the player's career were accompanied by serious injuries - ruptures of the cruciate and other knee ligaments, due to which he played only 23 matches in the 2025/26 season. Now, after the breakdown of the move to Getafe, which currently ranks 11th in La Liga, the future of the experienced footballer remains open.

### Controversial Data

While the Getafe management insisted on the full agreement of all contract terms with the player and successful medical clearance, representatives of the La Liga financial committee took a fundamentally different position. The conflict of versions lies in assessing the legitimacy of the proposed contract with a minimal salary by football star standards, which the regulator considered an attempt to bypass financial limits, while the club claimed the player's voluntary agreement to reduce demands for the sake of continuing his career in Madrid.
