This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, speaking at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdansk. ### Unconditional support for Kyiv The official assured those present that there is no talk of adjusting the strategy. According to Lammy, London has supported Kyiv under all previous governments and intends to continue doing so unconditionally in the future. The politician emphasized that the stability of the course is a priority for the British side. ### New financial commitments In addition to political guarantees, the United Kingdom has announced specific financial measures. The country has promised to allocate an additional 290 million pounds sterling (approximately 340 million euros). These funds will be directed towards two key tasks: - Restoration of Ukraine's infrastructure; - Strengthening the country's energy security. ### Sanctions pressure and fighting war financing Lammy also stated the intention to increase sanctions pressure on the Russian economy. Special attention will be paid to combating so-called "dirty money," which, according to British authorities, is used by the RF to finance military actions. ### Expectations from the NATO summit The Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that at the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara (July 7–8), allies will maintain positive momentum on the Ukrainian issue. Lammy noted that this is facilitated by the successful G7 summit in France, where country leaders demonstrated transatlantic unity. "I think, in NATO in the coming weeks, we will see that the United States notes: Europeans are increasing their defense commitments and security spending across the continent," he emphasized. ### Political context in Britain These statements were made against the backdrop of an exacerbation of the political situation in the United Kingdom. Earlier, the Labour Party suffered a crushing defeat in local elections. As a result, on June 22, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced his resignation, admitting that he is not the best candidate to lead the party in the next elections.
