## 🎯 Key Points

- The limit on purchasing non-cash foreign currency has been increased to 200,000 hryvnias per month.
- Opportunities for investing in bank metals and foreign securities have been expanded.
- The daily limit on cash withdrawals from foreign currency accounts has risen to 200,000 hryvnias.
- Businesses have received the ability to transfer currency limits within business groups.
- The NBU forecasts a growth in international reserves to $70 billion in 2026.

Starting August 11, 2026, a massive package of currency reliefs will come into force in Ukraine, marking the largest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. This was officially announced by the head of the National Bank of Ukraine, Andriy Pyshnyy. The new package of measures is aimed at significantly expanding opportunities for the population, businesses, and the financial sector to manage their own funds. In particular, the changes will affect limits on purchasing foreign currency, cash withdrawals, and payments abroad.

### Fourfold Increase in Limits for Citizens

The most significant changes will concern operations with citizens' own funds. According to the NBU resolution, the limit on purchasing non-cash foreign currency will be increased fourfold: from 50,000 hryvnias to 200,000 hryvnias per month. At the same time, the new limit will become universal: within its framework, it will be permitted to purchase not only foreign currency but also non-cash bank metals and securities of foreign issuers. This opens new horizons for Ukrainians in managing savings and investment activity.

### Expanded Opportunities for Payments Abroad

Important reliefs will also concern operations abroad. The daily limit on cash withdrawals from foreign currency accounts has been doubled — from 100,000 to 200,000 hryvnias. This rule applies both in Ukraine and when using cards abroad. The monthly limit for paying for goods, works, and services from hryvnia accounts has also increased to 200,000 hryvnias. Now, this amount can include payments for housing rent abroad. Furthermore, transfers of funds from account to account, including via the SWIFT system, are now permitted, which was previously restricted.

### Support for Business and the Financial Sector

For businesses, an additional limit is introduced, into which direct charitable donations to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard will be counted. Companies will also receive the opportunity to transfer their "investment" and "additional" limits to other legal entities within a single business group. In the insurance sector, MTSSBU will be able to purchase foreign currency to fulfill obligations under international "Green Card" agreements. Banks will be granted the right to account for part of reserves against active operations when calculating the currency position, which will increase their flexibility.

### Macroeconomic Forecast and Security

NBU Head Andriy Pyshnyy emphasized that all changes have already been taken into account in the new macro forecast. According to him, Ukraine's international reserves will grow to $70 billion by the end of 2026, which excludes risks for the currency market. "The logic is simple: gradually remove restrictions where the macro-financial situation allows, and give people more freedom," noted Pyshnyy. All details of the changes have been published on the regulator's official website.
