# Dollar in the range of 44.5–45.5, Euro — 51–52.5: Currency market forecast for August

In August, the Ukrainian currency market will maintain relative stability. According to the base scenario, the US dollar exchange rate will fluctuate within the range of 44.5–45.5 hryvnias, while the euro will trade between 51 and 52.5 hryvnias. This forecast was provided by Taras Lesovoy, Director of the Financial Markets and Investment Activities Department at Globus Bank, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.

### Factors that could alter the forecast

Exchange rates may move outside the specified corridors only under the influence of significant external or internal events. Experts cite the following as potential triggers:

- the course of military operations and the intensity of shelling;

- volumes of fuel and energy equipment imports;

- global oil prices;

- the dynamics of the euro-to-dollar exchange rate on international markets;

- public psychology during periods of heightened security concerns.

### Citizen behavior: emotions versus rationality

During shelling, some Ukrainians purchase cash currency not due to expectations of devaluation, but as a psychological "reserve" for unforeseen circumstances. However, the economic rationale for such purchases is questionable: if the spread between buying and selling rates is high and the hryvnia remains stable, the result may be negative.

### Rational approach to financial management

The main recommendation from experts is to avoid making decisions based on short-term emotions or alarming news. Instead of choosing a single instrument, it is advisable to diversify funds across different assets, taking into account risks and long-term goals.
