# Daria Snigur's Historic Breakthrough: From Revenge to Wimbledon's Third Round

Daria Snigur, the seventh-ranked Ukrainian player, continues her sensational performance at Wimbledon. After eliminating the leader of Ukrainian tennis, Elina Svitolina, in the opening round, the 24-year-old tennis player did not stop there. In the second round of the tournament, Snigur secured a convincing victory over French tennis player Léolia Jeanjean, advancing to the third round of a Grand Slam tournament.

### Convincing Revenge and Match Control

Snigur's opponent in the round of 64 was Léolia Jeanjean (WTA 132), who entered the main draw through qualifying. Prior to this, the two players had met only once — in 2022 at an ITF tournament, where Daria lost. At Wimbledon, Snigur took full revenge, completely controlling the flow of the match.

The match lasted just 1 hour and 20 minutes. The first set was evenly contested, but with the score at 5-4, the Ukrainian managed to break her opponent's serve and convert the set point, closing the set 6-4. Daria started the second set with a break and confidently led the match to victory with a score of 6-3.

### A Historic Milestone for Her Career

This success marked a turning point for Daria Snigur. For the fifth time, she reached the third round (round of 32) of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her professional career. Previously, all four attempts at majors had ended in defeat for her in the second round.

Thanks to this victory, the Ukrainian player is virtually entering the top 60 of the WTA world ranking, which is a significant step forward in her sporting career.

### Who is the Next Opponent?

In the third round of Wimbledon, Daria Snigur will face the winner of the match between two qualifiers — Georgian Mariam Bolkvadze (WTA #545) and American Ashlyn Krueger (WTA #102). This match will be another test for the Ukrainian tennis player, who continues her winning streak on grass courts.
