In Zhytomyr, authorities are investigating a tragic incident that claimed the life of a 27-year-old serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The National Police have classified the incident as an intentional murder and have already detained the suspect—a 17-year-old resident of Berdychiv.

### Body found in a rented apartment

The events unfolded on June 4. The owner of an apartment in the regional center contacted the police, reporting that she had discovered the body of her tenant inside the premises. Upon arrival, investigative and operational groups from the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zhytomyr region, along with forensic experts, identified the deceased as a 27-year-old soldier.

During the inspection of the premises, items of crockery containing residues of a powdery substance were seized. The body has been sent for a forensic medical examination to accurately determine the cause of death.

### The crime scheme

The investigation established that the murder was premeditated. According to preliminary data, the suspect acted under the control of a handler with whom she communicated in one of the Telegram channels. Law enforcement officials link this handler to a possible representative of Russian special services.

At the end of May, the girl received a package by mail containing a crystalline substance, presumably methadone. Following this, she was given an assignment: to meet the serviceman at a specified time and place. In the apartment, the suspect added poison to an alcoholic beverage. When the man lost consciousness, the girl left the premises.

### Detention and prior convictions

During operational and investigative activities, the identity of the accomplice was established, and she was detained at her place of residence. Currently, the issue of notifying her of the suspicion and selecting a preventive measure is being resolved. It is known that the girl has previously been held criminally liable for drug offenses and violations against public safety.

### Additional circumstances

Law enforcement officials also report another high-profile case involving servicemen. Two employees of the territorial recruitment center have been notified of suspicion. According to the investigation, they left a man unconscious on the street and did not provide him with assistance. One of the suspects had medical training and was obligated to act as a medic, but failed to fulfill his duties.
