# Digital breakthrough for parents: how kindergarten registration changed in Kyiv

A significant step in the digitalization of city life has taken place in Kyiv: the Preschool Education Portal has been updated. Capital parents can now submit an application to enroll their child in kindergarten through a more convenient and secure interface. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).

### Security and convenience come first

The main goal of the modernization was to simplify the search for information and increase the level of protection of personal data. Valentin Mondrievsky, Deputy Head of the KCSA, noted that the portal update is part of the overall strategy for the development of digital services in the capital. The authorities are striving to make the interaction of citizens with educational institutions as simple and transparent as possible.

Special attention has been paid to the authorization system. To increase security, access to the parent's cabinet is now provided through secure login methods. After logging in, the user must confirm their email address, which eliminates the possibility of unauthorized access to the child's data.

### What will change for parents

It is important to note that the technical changes did not affect current applications. All previously submitted applications and information about the place in the queue are preserved in full. Parents do not need to go through the registration or document submission procedure again if they have already done so.

The Preschool Education Portal remains a centralized platform for choosing an institution for a child. Online registration for kindergarten is available via a link on the official city website. The interface update will help find the necessary data faster and navigate the system.

### Context of educational changes

The modernization of digital services is taking place against the backdrop of other important changes in the education sector. Earlier, it was reported about the closure of a number of schools and kindergartens in frontline regions from September 1, as well as the preparation of new rules for admitting unvaccinated children to school. At the same time, Kyiv continues to work on simplifying registration for first grade through online applications.

Valentin Mondrievsky emphasized that the city continues to work to make services accessible to all residents and the process of interacting with preschool institutions more comfortable for families.
