June 3 was declared a day of mourning in Dnipro. The city mourns those killed in a massive rocket strike launched by Russia on the night of June 2. The tragedy claimed the lives of civilians, including children. This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a decree by Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov.

### Scale of Destruction and Casualties

The night attack was one of the most severe for the regional center. According to the latest data from the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration (RMA), the search and rescue operation in the affected residential district has been completed. As of now, 16 deaths and 42 injuries have been confirmed.

Among the victims of the attack is Anton Yarmolenko, a Major and Deputy Head of the Fire and Rescue Unit. He died while responding to a call at the time of the strike. Rescuers pulled bodies from under the ruins of destroyed houses: among the dead were women, men, and children. In particular, the bodies of a woman and an 8-year-old boy were found under the rubble of a four-story building. Earlier, the body of a child born in 2023 was recovered from the debris.

### Victims and Consequences

22 people remain in Dnipro hospitals, four of whom are in critical condition. Doctors have recorded shrapnel wounds, fractures, lacerations, and acoustic barotrauma among the injured. Among the wounded are four children: boys aged 6 and 16 and a 13-year-old girl were hospitalized in moderate condition, while another 14-year-old girl is receiving outpatient treatment.

The situation worsened even after the declaration of mourning. The Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration reported a new drone hit on a residential building in the city. As a result of this incident, an 8-year-old girl was injured and is receiving all necessary medical assistance.

### Destruction Across the Region

The strikes were not limited to Dnipro. In the city, multi-apartment buildings were partially destroyed, enterprises, a fire station, and garages were damaged, and cars were destroyed. In Kamianske, an administrative building and residential houses were damaged, and three adults were injured. In the Nikopol region, the district center, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovska, and Marmanka hromadas were hit — private and multi-apartment houses were damaged there. In the Synelnykove region, a building in the Vasylkivka hromada caught fire, and a fire broke out in the Apostolove hromada near Kryvyi Rih.

### Day of Mourning

In accordance with the decree of Mayor Boris Filatov, on June 3, the State Flags of Ukraine will be lowered to half-mast on the building of the Dnipro City Council, as well as on communal enterprises and institutions. This symbolizes the city's grief for the deceased and support for the affected families.
