In the morning of July 23, a significant trend shift occurred in Ukraine's foreign exchange market. The average selling rate of the US dollar in the banking sector returned to the important psychological mark of 45 hryvnias. At the same time, the cost of the euro is rising, making the purchase of foreign currency more expensive for ordinary citizens.

### Situation in exchange offices and banks

According to the Minfin portal, on Thursday morning, the dollar rate in exchange offices was 44.80 hryvnias for purchase (+5 kopecks) and 44.69 hryvnias for sale (+4 kopecks). The euro in exchange offices can be bought for 51.37 hryvnias (+2 kopecks) and sold for 51.19 hryvnias (+4 kopecks).

In the banking sector, the dynamics are even more noticeable. The average selling rate of the dollar rose to 45.04 hryvnias (+8 kopecks), while the purchase rate is 44.54 hryvnias (+5 kopecks). The euro in banks has become more expensive at 51.48 hryvnias for purchase (+6 kopecks), while the selling rate dropped to 50.75 hryvnias (-3 kopecks).

### Rates in leading banks of the country

Leading financial institutions demonstrate similar, but not identical, dynamics:

    - **PrivatBank:** Sale of cash dollars in tellers — 44.99 hryvnias (+9 kopecks). The rate for card operations remained unchanged at 45.04 hryvnias. The euro in branches costs 51.60 hryvnias (+15 kopecks), and via cards — 51.54 hryvnias.

    - **Oschadbank:** In the mobile app, dollars are sold for 44.95 hryvnias (+5 kopecks), and via cards — for 45.05 hryvnias (+4 kopecks). The euro via the app is available at 51.45 hryvnias, and via cards — at 51.65 hryvnias.

    - **PUMB:** The teller selling rate for the dollar was 45.20 hryvnias (+10 kopecks), while the card rate remained at 44.90 hryvnias. The euro in bank branches costs 51.70 hryvnias.

    - **Monobank:** Dollar sales were fixed at 45 hryvnias (+10 kopecks), and the euro at 51.50 hryvnias.

### Cost of purchasing foreign currency

For clarity: purchasing 100 US dollars on average across banks today will cost approximately 4504 hryvnias. Depending on the chosen bank and method of purchase (cash or card), the final amount may vary. For example, buying cash dollars at PUMB will be the most expensive — 4520 hryvnias for 100 units, while at Oschadbank via the app — 4495 hryvnias.
