## 🎯 Key Points

- Nighttime strike on Kyiv hit the Dovzhenko Film Studio on October 7, 2026
- A three-pavilion building of the enterprise was damaged, with no fatalities reported
- The studio previously suffered shelling in June and September of the current year
- Rescue services, police, and medics are working at the scene

The Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio in Kyiv has suffered another destructive blow as a result of a massive missile attack carried out on the night of October 7, 2026. The management of the legendary cinematic enterprise reported on official social media channels about the severe consequences of the nighttime shelling, which caused damage to the infrastructure.

### Scale of Destruction and Emergency Response

The three-pavilion building of the film studio, where active work on various cultural and media projects was underway, came under fire. State Emergency Service units, police patrols, and emergency medical teams promptly arrived at the scene. According to preliminary official data from the studio administration, human casualties were avoided as a result of the nighttime incident, though material damage is assessed as significant.### Background of Attacks on Cultural Heritage

It is worth noting that this is far from the first attack on the facilities of the Dovzhenko National Film Studio in recent times. Earlier in June, large-scale destruction was recorded following a hostile attack when Ukraine's unique and oldest collection of historical costumes was completely destroyed. Additionally, on September 30, a major fire was reported on the studio's premises in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, indicating a systematic pattern of threats against Ukrainian cultural sites.### Contradictory Data

While official sources from the studio administration and state services state that there were no fatalities directly on the enterprise's territory, several independent and regional media outlets reported casualties and injuries as part of the broader massive attack on Kyiv, which also affected other capital landmarks including the Lavra. Journalists continue to verify incoming figures regarding the wounded and killed throughout the Shevchenkivskyi district.

### Significance of the Film Studio for Ukraine

Founded in 1927, the Dovzhenko Film Studio is the cradle of Ukrainian poetic cinema and world cinematic avant-garde. Masterpieces that entered the treasury of world art were created on its grounds. Regular shelling of the historical complex inflicts an irreparable blow on the national memory, architectural ensemble, and cultural identity of Ukraine, demanding the strengthening of air defense systems.
