In the morning of July 14, Lviv was hit by dangerous inclement weather. A heavy downpour, accompanied by thunderstorms, flooded city streets, parking lots, and the entrances to residential buildings. The situation was exacerbated by lightning striking a city TV tower, which led to power outages in certain areas.

### Meteorologists warned in advance

Specialists from the Lviv Regional Center of Hydrometeorology did not leave the residents and guests of the region without information. As early as Tuesday morning, July 14, they issued a repeat warning about dangerous meteorological phenomena. Earlier, before 9 a.m., meteorologists had already reported significant precipitation and thunderstorms expected both in the Lviv region and directly in the city itself.

### Consequences: from fountains from manholes to flooded apartments

Reality turned out to be harsh. Social media users and local public pages began publishing evidence of how the city was covered by the elements from the very morning. The storm drainage system could not cope with the volume of water, leading to critical consequences:

- Not only roadways but also entrances to residential buildings and stairwells were flooded.

- "Fountains" of water gushing from manholes on roads due to sewage overflow were recorded in various districts.

- Voltage fluctuations and power supply interruptions were observed.

Overall, a significant number of streets and objects located on them ended up underwater. Experts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center clarified that on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 14, short-term rains and dangerous thunderstorms were possible throughout the territory of Ukraine, however, Lviv became one of the most affected cities on that day.
