# Drone attack on Poltava region: gas stations and fire station damaged, no casualties

On the night of July 25, Russian forces launched a drone attack on targets in the Poltava region. As a result of the strike, four gas stations and a fire station building were damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

### Timeline of events and extent of damage

The head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Dyakonnych, reported the start of the incident at 5 a.m. According to him, enemy UAVs attacked several targets in the Poltava district. Initially, hits on two gas stations and the fire station building were confirmed.

Subsequently, the list of damaged targets expanded. Dyakonnych clarified that two more gas stations in the district were hit during the night. Despite the extensive damage to infrastructure, no official reports to emergency services regarding injured people were received.

### Impact on civilian objects

Damage was recorded on the territory of private residences due to falling drone debris. Residents reported destroyed roofs, broken window glazing, and a damaged car. UAV debris was found directly on the plots of civilian houses.

### Enemy tactics and lack of warnings

The Ukrainian Air Force did not report the movement of drones towards the Poltava region that night, which complicated the timely response of the air defense. Intelligence data obtained recently indicated that enemy strikes would be directed primarily at fuel infrastructure: gas stations, trucks, buses, and passenger cars.

This tactic was confirmed in practice. Previously, Russian forces struck gas stations in Sumy, causing fires, as well as targets in Mykolaiv. At the same time, Russia is experiencing a fuel shortage and the sale of gas stations against the backdrop of a crisis caused by strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the aggressor country's energy facilities.
