On the night of July 9, Russian territory once again faced large-scale sabotage activity. Unidentified drones attacked several cities, resulting in major fires at strategically important facilities. Incidents were recorded in the Stavropol Krai and Tver, continuing a series of strikes against the country's energy infrastructure.

### Situation in Stavropol Krai

The first alarm signals came from the Stavropol Krai. Around 02:07, the region's governor, Vladimir Vladimirov, announced a threat of a drone attack on the area via his social media channels. A few hours later, video footage demonstrating the aftermath of the strike began to appear in open sources (OSINT).

According to updated data, the target of the attack was the city of Mikhailovsk. The strike hit an oil depot belonging to the company "Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt." The fire resulting from the attack was not only not extinguished by morning but was also gaining strength, spreading to new areas. Footage shows EMERCOM (MChS) personnel conducting operations to extinguish the blaze during the night.

### Strike on Tver

Parallel to the events in the south, an attack on a facility in Tver was recorded in the early morning. As a result of the drone strike, the "TVERNEFTEPRODUKT" oil depot caught fire. Preliminary data suggests that the fire engulfed one of the fuel storage tanks. The situation on the ground remains tense, and rescue services continue their work.

### Context of escalation

These incidents are a continuation of a series of attacks on Russia's energy sector that began in early July. Just a few days ago, on July 6, Ukrainian forces attacked the Omsk Refinery, the largest in the country. Media reports stated that following the strike, the enterprise was forced to suspend operations.

On the night of July 8, strikes were launched against the Saratov Refinery and the "TAIF-NK" oil refining complex in Nizhnekamsk. Fires were also recorded at both facilities. This series of attacks coincided with an official statement by the Russian authorities regarding the introduction of a complete ban on diesel fuel exports, which may indicate an attempt to stabilize domestic supply against the backdrop of growing risks to infrastructure.
