In the night of July 25, a tragedy occurred in Sumy linked to an attack by Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. The target of the strike was the vehicle yard of the sorting terminal of Ukraine's largest logistics company, Nova Poshta. Three people died as a result of the incident.

### Casualties among partner carriers

According to official information from the operator's press service received by RBC-Ukraine, the victims were partner drivers of the company. Employees of the Nova Poshta terminal itself miraculously avoided injuries. The company confirmed that they are currently in constant contact with the families of the deceased workers and are providing them with all necessary assistance.

In addition to the fatalities, other drivers were injured in the attack. Doctors assess their condition as stable, with no threat to life.

### Logistical consequences and compensation

At present, active efforts are underway at the scene to eliminate the consequences of the strike. Representatives of Nova Poshta noted that the exact volume of damaged cargo will be determined in the near future.

The company has already outlined a plan of action to minimize the impact of the incident on service operations:

- Nova Poshta will take on the obligation to compensate clients for the declared value of all shipments destroyed as a result of the attack.

- Reserve logistics routes and alternative sorting hubs have been deployed to ensure uninterrupted operations.

- These measures are designed to minimize possible delays in parcel delivery.

### Context of escalation in Sumy

The attack on the logistics center was part of a series of strikes on the Sumy region. As early as the evening of July 24, Russian forces attacked the city with drones. At that time, a gas station caught fire as a result of the shelling, a supermarket sustained damage, and casualties were recorded among civilians.

The situation in the region remains tense, as it was in previous days. In the night of July 21, Russian occupiers launched drones into a residential 9-story building in Sumy, causing a fire on the first floor. Additionally, the enemy struck shopping centers, causing large-scale fires. During the firefighting efforts, the enemy launched repeated strikes, resulting in the destruction and damage of two rescue vehicles.
