British singer Dua Lipa has taken part in opening the 19th London Literature Festival 2026, which is taking place under her curation this year. The famous artist acts as a reading ambassador, encouraging audiences to look at familiar things from an entirely different angle through books. The event runs from October 21 to November 1, 2026, as part of celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the renowned cultural center.

### Large-Scale Campaign on London Screens

Ahead of the event's launch, a special message from the singer appeared on the famous Piccadilly Lights advertising screen in the center of the British capital. It emphasizes that reading helps people better understand each other and the world around them. The initiative was implemented jointly with the Service95 Book Club, founded by Dua Lipa herself.

Visual design for this prominent advertising campaign was created by talented illustrator and animator Rama Duwaji. The core idea of the message is that literature's true value lies not just in engaging stories, but in the unique opportunity to experience other people's perspectives and put oneself in their shoes.

### Star Festival Program and Creative Meetings

The program of this year's literary festival is packed with landmark cultural events and meetings with prominent authors. Notably, on October 24, Dua Lipa will host a public conversation with British writer Zadie Smith, who will present her famous debut novel White Teeth. The following day, the artist will meet legendary musician and writer Patti Smith, presenting her memoir Bread of Angels.

Such events organically continue the singer's educational activities launched with the creation of her book club in 2023. As part of the project, she selects outstanding works monthly and records special podcasts with their authors, introducing listeners to a diverse range of global cultures and stories.

### The Role of Literature in Modern Culture

Holding a large-scale festival under a pop star's curation highlights the growing popularity of reading among youth audiences and the blurring lines between mass culture and intellectual literature. Drawing attention to books through reputable media projects helps engage millions of new readers in global cultural dialogue.

The festival is expected to attract a record number of visitors and set new standards for literary events in the UK. Projects similar to Dua Lipa's initiatives prove that literature remains a powerful tool for empathy and mutual understanding in a rapidly changing world.
