While the tech market is actively exploring the niche of AI-powered wearables, users are increasingly voicing concerns about covert recording and privacy violations. In response to these anxieties, DuckDuckGo, known for its privacy-focused search engine, took an unexpected step: releasing its own line of sunglasses called Paso Rob. Their slogan is "Regular, Damn, Sunglasses".

The DuckDuckGo Paso Rob glasses were created in collaboration with manufacturer Knockaround. Their main feature is the complete absence of electronics. They contain no cameras, no microphones, no processors, and no batteries. These are classic sunglasses with the DuckDuckGo logo that, according to the manufacturer, offer several undeniable advantages over "smart" counterparts:

### DuckDuckGo's Stance

A DuckDuckGo representative explained the company's motivation in a conversation with CNET: "We view the new wave of AI glasses as another privacy-invasive technology from big tech companies, so we launched a satirical campaign and released 'regular, damn, sunglasses'".

According to the developers, the only glasses that truly respect privacy are those without cameras, microphones, or AI listening to you and the people you interact with. The Paso Rob glasses actually exist and are already available for purchase, making this protest not just words, but a real product on the market.
