Kyiv's Dynamo continues to search for stability in its coaching department following a sudden leadership change. On October 18, the club parted ways with head coach Ihor Kostyuk in the wake of a defeat against Polissya in the ninth matchday of the Ukrainian Premier League, appointing Polish specialist Maciej Kędziorek as interim manager, who is already preparing the team for the upcoming match against Kudrivka scheduled for October 23. Against this backdrop, according to Sport RBC.UA citing the Telegram channel Dynamo Kyiv Inside, two of the capital club's legends—Oleh Husєv and Serhiy Fedorov—could return to its coaching structure. As reported by [Sport RBC.UA](https://sport.rbc.ua/ukr/football/trenerom-dinamo-mozhe-stati-legenda-klubu-1792573890.html), both specialists were previously part of Oleksandr Shovkovskyi's staff but left the first team following his dismissal in November 2025. Now, according to the source, they may resume coaching work—most likely with the Dynamo U-21 youth team, though options involving positions within the first team's coaching staff are not ruled out either. ### Two Careers That Built the Club's Name Oleh Husєv, currently 43 years old, played for the Kyiv club from 2003 to 2018: during this time, he made 443 appearances in the Ukrainian championship and won the national title five times. Currently, Husєv holds the position of advisor to the president of Dynamo, making his return to an active coaching role a logical step. Serhiy Fedorov defended Dynamo's colors primarily from 1997 to 2008, winning six championship titles with the team and participating in the Kyiv side's historic run to the Champions League semifinals in 1999 under Valeriy Lobanovskyi. ### Who Is Currently Responsible for the Team Following Shovkovskyi's departure, it was Ihor Kostyuk who formed his own staff of assistants, but his tenure proved short-lived: the defeat against Polissya in the ninth UPL matchday led to his dismissal on October 18. Maciej Kędziorek temporarily took the helm, tasked with stabilizing the team's play ahead of the upcoming fixture against Kudrivka. In such a transitional phase, it is crucial for the club to quickly assemble a familiar and recognizable coaching team for the fans, and bringing back their own alumni looks like one of such steps. ### What's Next According to available information, the most likely assignment for Husєv and Fedorov will be the U-21 team, though sources also allow for their inclusion in the first team's staff. It was previously reported that club president Ihor Surkis has already decided on Dynamo's future permanent head coach, meaning the personnel reshuffles in the coaching department could be part of a broader restructuring. Official confirmation from the club regarding the return of the legends has not been received yet, and a final decision is expected in the coming days. ## Fact-Check & Sources - [Тренером "Динамо" может стать легенда клуба: кто среди кандидатов](https://sport.rbc.ua/ukr/football/trenerom-dinamo-mozhe-stati-legenda-klubu-1792573890.html) - Confirms Kostyuk's dismissal on Oct 18 after the defeat to Polissya, Kędziorek's appointment, and the match against Kudrivka on Oct 23; reports the return of Husєv and Fedorov as a possibility citing the Dynamo Kyiv Inside Telegram channel. - ["Палач Украины" прокомментировал отказ стать тренером "Динамо"](https://www.obozrevatel.com/sport-oboz/palach-ukrainyi-prokommentiroval-otkaz-stat-trenerom-dinamo.htm) - Context: the club is searching for a manager, Eduard Iordănescu turned down the offer.
