The Polish specialist will continue to serve as acting head coach, while club management plans to strengthen his staff with an additional assistant. The negotiations took place amidst the search for an optimal strategy for the capital club following a series of personnel changes and disappointing results in the national championship. ### Details of the Meeting at the Training Base The meeting between the club president and the acting head coach took place immediately after the team's training session. The parties discussed the team's current state in detail and reached an agreement on key organizational issues. Maciej Kendzerek retains his status as acting head coach for now, although the club management has not yet made a final decision on his permanent appointment to the position. In addition, the conversation touched upon strengthening the coaching staff. It is expected that in the coming days, another specialist from Poland will join the club to work as Kendzerek's assistant. The management hopes that updating the staff will help stabilize the team's performance and improve results in the Ukrainian Premier League. ### Maciej Kendzerek's Professional Background Maciej Kendzerek has extensive experience in football, having dedicated about two decades to developing youth teams and lower-league clubs in Poland. He initially joined Dynamo Kyiv's structure as a set-piece coach and became an assistant to Oleksandr Shovkovskyi in 2025. The Polish specialist managed to retain his position within the club structure even after a leadership change on the coaching bridge, continuing his work under Ihor Kostiuk. Following Kostiuk's dismissal, which came in the wake of a defeat against Polissya and poor team performances, Kendzerek took over the capital giants with the interim tag. ### Context and Prospects for the Capital Club The situation within Dynamo's coaching staff has attracted close attention from fans and sports media amid fierce competition in the Ukrainian championship. Previously, the team suffered a painful defeat against Polissya in the central match of the round, which led to the resignation of the previous head coach and emergency personnel decisions by the management. Kendzerek's further prospects at the helm of the Kyiv club directly depend on the team's upcoming results in the national tournament. Management's support through strengthening the staff with a new assistant gives the Polish specialist a realistic chance to prove himself and secure the position of head coach at one of the country's most titled clubs. ## Accounts differ ### Personnel decision by Dynamo management regarding the head coach - **Sport.RBC.UA:** Surkis held a meeting with Maciej Kendzerek, who will continue to serve as acting head coach while his staff is reinforced with an assistant ([sport.rbc.ua](https://sport.rbc.ua/ukr/football/surkis-viznachivsya-maybutnim-trenerom-dinamo-1792507291.html)) - **Ukranews:** The question of changing the Kyiv team's head coach has been lifted — club management decided to maintain confidence in Ihor Kostiuk ([ukranews.com](https://ukranews.com/news/1176267-surkis-opredelilsya-s-trenerom-dlya-dinamo)) - **OBOZ.UA:** Dynamo Kyiv head coach Ihor Kostiuk will prepare the team for the match against Kolos ([obozrevatel.com](https://www.obozrevatel.com/sport-oboz/budet-otstavka-surkis-prinyal-reshenie-po-treneru-dinamo-posle-vyileta-iz-evrokubkov.htm)) *Where they agree:* The management of the Kyiv club discussed the issue of the coaching staff and the future of the team's mentor. ## Fact-Check & Sources - [Суркис определился с будущим тренером в "Динамо": о чем он договорился с Кендзереком](https://sport.rbc.ua/ukr/football/surkis-viznachivsya-maybutnim-trenerom-dinamo-1792507291.html) - Primary source for the meeting between Surkis and Kendzerek, citing TaToTake. - [Суркис определился с тренером для "Динамо"](https://ukranews.com/news/1176267-surkis-opredelilsya-s-trenerom-dlya-dinamo) - Alternative report from Ukranews about maintaining trust in Ihor Kostiuk. - [Будет отставка?
