The French medical community is facing a challenge previously unseen in the country: the first case of Ebola virus infection has been recorded. The doctor, who became the patient, received urgent medical assistance: he was hospitalized in a specialized facility capable of handling highly dangerous infections. According to the latest data, the patient's condition is assessed as stable.

French authorities immediately activated epidemiological investigation protocols. Security and health services are actively searching for all individuals who may have come into contact with the doctor after his return from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The situation is exacerbated by the fact that there are currently no approved vaccines or specialized drugs to combat the Bundibugyo strain specifically. This creates additional difficulties for medical professionals fighting the virus at the source of the outbreak.

The WHO has expressed serious concern regarding the dynamics of the events. Statistics from the DRC are alarming: the number of suspected cases of infection has exceeded one thousand, and the number of deaths has reached at least 246. According to experts, such rapid rates of Ebola spread have not been recorded throughout the entire period of monitoring outbreaks of this disease.
