Ekaterina Tyshkevich, star of popular Ukrainian series such as "Nothing Happens Twice," "Women's Doctor," and "Good Boy," has shared happy news: she and her husband, actor Valentin Tomusyak, are expecting their first child. The couple shared details about the pregnancy in an interview with Alina Dorotyuk for RBC-Ukraine.

### A Conscious Decision and Astrological Calculation

The pregnancy occurred almost immediately after the couple decided to try. "We are pregnant, we recently entered the second trimester. In fact, we hadn't even tried until then. I didn't think it would happen so quickly," the actress admitted. According to her, the decision was coordinated with a doctor and took Ekaterina's health condition into account. "My doctor agreed. And in January we decided to try, and in February I was already pregnant," she clarified.

The couple approached planning extremely seriously. "We really wanted it, the house was bought, and there is already a place for a nursery. We approached this so consciously that we even calculated the date and time astrologically," Tyshkevich added. She also noted that hormonal changes can positively affect well-being, so the pregnancy became part of a strategy to improve her health.

### Fear and Hope: A Week in the Hospital for Preservation

Despite the happy news, the first months of pregnancy were not easy for Ekaterina. At 8 weeks, she faced a serious complication. "I woke up at three in the morning due to bleeding, it was very scary because there was a lot of blood. I thought that was it," the actress recalls. At that moment, she couldn't even imagine that the pregnancy could be saved after such bleeding. "We went through hell at that moment," Tyshkevich admitted.

After the incident, Ekaterina spent a week in the hospital for preservation. Fortunately, the baby is fine, and the pregnancy continues to develop without complications. Tyshkevich is currently in her 5th month of pregnancy.

### The Path to Motherhood: From Theater Studio to the ICU

Ekaterina Tyshkevich was born on September 18, 1994, in Kyiv, into a family of medical workers. Since childhood, she dreamed of the stage — at the age of 10, she told her parents she wanted to become an actress, after which she began attending a theater studio. Later, she also tried herself in the modeling industry and participated in beauty contests, notably winning the Odesa "Mini-Miss Pearl of the South" contest. For some time, she worked in television, hosting the program "Only for Girls" on a local channel. Eventually, Tyshkevich chose the path of acting.

Her professional debut in theater took place while she was still studying at university — she played a role in the play "In Search of Joy," where she embodied the character of Lenochka. In cinema, Ekaterina started with episodic roles, particularly in the series "Women's Doctor," "The Return of Mukhtar," and "Ambulance." Subsequently, the actress received more prominent roles, and in 2015 she played the lead role in the series "Immortal".

It was in 2015 that she began her relationship with actor Valentin Tomusyak, and in 2019 the couple officially got married.

### The Fight for Health: From Headaches to Sepsis

In 2022, Tyshkevich publicly spoke about serious health problems for the first time — severe headaches of unknown origin that significantly affected her life. Later, she admitted that during the most difficult periods she had thoughts of suicide. At the end of 2023, the actress's condition deteriorated sharply — she was admitted to the intensive care unit due to sepsis, after which doctors were forced to temporarily induce a state of artificial coma.

After this, Ekaterina tried various treatment methods, including working with a psychologist and undergoing a course of antidepressants. Now, expecting a child, she hopes that the pregnancy will become part of the recovery process and improve her well-being.
