In the night of July 26, the city of Sevastopol, under Russian occupation, experienced a sharp restriction of electricity supply. The local administration, led by Mikhail Razvozhayev, called these actions forced measures necessary to prevent a major accident in the power system.

### Reason for the outage: network overload

The occupation head of the region, Mikhail Razvozhayev, made a statement explaining the reasons for the sudden power outage. According to him, the restriction of electricity supply was necessary to eliminate the overload of electrical networks located outside the region. "This measure is forced. It is necessary to prevent an accident in the entire power system," the official emphasized.

In connection with the threat that arose, a special operating mode was introduced at critical facilities. Social institutions of the city were switched to reserve power supply schemes to minimize the impact of outages on the life of the population.

### Air raid and air defense operations

Simultaneously with the energy problems in Sevastopol, an air raid alert was declared. The occupation authorities announced the operation of air defense systems. As the reason for the alert, they cited an attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles. At the moment, details about the consequences of the air defense work or facts of target destruction have not been provided.

### New priorities of the Ukrainian army

Events in Crimea are taking place against the backdrop of the escalation of Ukraine's strike campaign. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed with the military command on an updated list of priority targets for long-range strikes on Russian territory. The head of state stated that the range of strikes has already exceeded three thousand kilometers, which allows striking the deep rear of the enemy.

Recall that in the night of July 26, drones attacked several cities in temporarily occupied Crimea. Among the targets of the strikes was the Tavria TPP near Simferopol, which confirms the intensity of the work of Ukrainian forces in the region.
