## Key Points

- iPhone Duo will feature a personalized name greeting upon first boot.
- The technology relies on the Presto system for configuring sealed boxes.
- The feature will be available only in the US, for iPhone Duo, in two languages.

Apple is preparing to introduce its long-awaited novelty — the foldable iPhone Duo smartphone, which is already attracting insider details. Popular Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman shared interesting details on social network X regarding the device's retail launch. According to his information, buyers of the gadget at Apple Store physical locations will encounter a unique personalization feature that will make unboxing truly unforgettable.

### A Personalized Greeting on Screen

The essence of the innovation is that Apple retail outlets will be equipped with special equipment to delicately modify the device's boot process. Upon first turning on the newly purchased smartphone, a standard 'Hello' greeting will appear on the screen, after which the system will automatically add the buyer's name. For example, the device will greet the owner with a phrase like 'Hello, John'. This touch aims to emphasize the company's individual approach to each customer and strengthen emotional connection with the product.

### Technological Basis: The Secret of Presto System

Technology market experts note that such out-of-the-box customization became possible thanks to the implementation of Apple's proprietary Presto technology. This system allows Apple specialists to update software and adjust parameters on packaged iPhones right in the warehouse or store. At the same time, the boxes with gadgets remain completely sealed, which preserves the factory packaging appearance and guarantees device safety before sale to the end consumer.

### Controversial Data

Despite enthusiastic insider reviews, a number of questions and strict limitations remain around the new feature. According to Mark Gurman, the exclusive option will operate exclusively in the United States and apply only to the iPhone Duo model, while supporting only two languages — English and Spanish. In addition, it currently remains open whether owners will be able to subsequently change or completely disable this personalized greeting through operating system settings.

### Release Dates and Market Prospects

Today, October 12, 2026, official pre-orders for the long-awaited gadget start, while the full sales launch in retail networks is scheduled for October 23. Analysts emphasize that the launch of the iPhone Duo will be an important milestone for the company trying to gain a foothold in the foldable devices market. The success of the novelty will largely depend not only on its technical characteristics, but also on such marketing initiatives that create an aura of exclusivity around the product.
