# Explosive Conflict in Poland: Defense Minister vs. President Over Missiles for Ukraine

A serious political scandal has erupted in Poland concerning military aid to Ukraine. The Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, has engaged in a fierce debate with the circle surrounding President Karol Nawrocki. The trigger for the conflict was the government's decision to transfer Patriot air defense system missiles to Kyiv.

### Public Confrontation

The head of the defense ministry did not hold back his emotions in response to criticism from the opposition and the presidential administration. The focus of attention was a statement by Marcin Przychod, head of the President's Office of International Policy. He previously stated that the key role in the decision to transfer the missiles was played by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Cezary Tomczyk.

Kosiniak-Kamysz perceived these words as an attack on the government's position and reminded Nawrocki's team of national security priorities. The Minister directly asked Przychod: "Is what he is saying treason or stupidity?".

### Arguments in Favor of Kyiv

In his speech, the Defense Minister presented hard geopolitical arguments. He reminded that NATO unanimously declared the necessity of supporting Ukraine and emphasized that a defeat of Kyiv in the war with Russia is the worst-case scenario for all of Europe, including Poland.

Kosiniak-Kamysz expressed his position in a vivid and clear manner: "I prefer our Patriots to shoot down Russian missiles over Kyiv, not over Warsaw". He also stated that criticism of Polish support for Ukraine drives him to madness and called such people "crazy".

### Dialogue of Leaders Amidst Disagreements

Despite internal disagreements, the course of cooperation remains at the highest level. Earlier, Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that Warsaw and Kyiv must maintain dialogue, as they are united by a common enemy — Russia. It was also reported that during the meeting of leaders, historical issues between the two countries were discussed.
