# Fatal accident at a railway crossing in Rivne region: train collided with a minibus, people killed

A major road traffic accident occurred at a railway crossing in the Rivne district of Ukraine. A train collided with a route minibus. The tragedy took place in the village of Kvasilov around 13:55.

### Situation at the scene

Law enforcement officers, rescuers, and railway workers arrived at the accident site. Currently, they are conducting emergency rescue operations, extricating the bodies of the deceased, and providing assistance to the injured.

Train traffic on this section is temporarily restricted. The full circumstances of the incident will be established as a result of the investigation.

### Casualties and injured

According to preliminary data, the number of victims of the tragedy is being clarified. The Rivne region police reports three fatalities, while the State Emergency Service (SES) cites a figure of four people killed. In addition, at least 13 people have sustained injuries and are receiving necessary medical assistance.

### Accident context

This incident is another serious case on the roads of Ukraine in recent times. Earlier, on June 30, a large-scale accident involving five cars occurred in Kyiv, resulting in the death of a 51-year-old woman, while two other participants in the accident sustained injuries. Also, in Brovary, Kyiv region, a fatal collision between a passenger car and a passenger bus took the life of a two-year-old child. In Khmelnytskyi region, a tourist bus on an international route overturned on the highway near Kamianets-Podilskyi.
