## 🎯 Key Points

- A fire at the Dovzhenko Film Studio in Kyiv broke out following a nighttime attack on September 30, 2026.
- According to preliminary data, one of the pavilions with accumulated batteries is burning.
- The nighttime attack on the capital also led to fires in four districts and the deaths of two women.

A serious fire has broken out in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv on the grounds of the historic Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studio. According to preliminary information from local authorities and emergency services, the fire engulfed one of the pavilions of the legendary film complex, where burning batteries were reported.

### Background and Nighttime Shelling of the Capital

The emergency at the film studio was preceded by a massive Russian military attack on the Ukrainian capital. On the morning of September 30, 2026, Kyiv residents widely complained about a thick fog and acrid smell of smoke in the air. The State Emergency Service (SES) explained that the smog was caused by a combination of unfavorable meteorological conditions and the aftermath of enemy strikes. On the night of September 30, the city suffered a combined attack by ballistic missiles and attack drones, resulting in fires breaking out simultaneously in several districts of the capital and claiming the lives of two civilians.

### Essence of the Incident at the Dovzhenko Studio

According to several media outlets and specialized publications, the strike hit the territory of the Dovzhenko National Film Studio directly. As a result of the impact and the subsequent fire, the studio's infrastructure facilities were damaged. Sources report the destruction of a significant portion of the material base and unique historical artifacts stored on the premises.

### Contradictory Data

There are discrepancies in estimates of the scale of destruction and the exact causes of the fire in the studio's pavilions. While local authorities and operational services initially reported a localized battery fire in one of the pavilions, independent monitoring groups and several media outlets claim that the fire was a direct consequence of a weapon strike and resulted in the destruction of the country's largest collection of costumes and props.

### Aftermath and Rescuers' Work

Currently, reinforced SES units, medics, and municipal services continue to work at the scene. The liquidation of the fire's consequences is complicated by the overall tense state of urban infrastructure following the nighttime shelling. Environmentalists and rescuers urge residents of nearby areas to remain indoors due to high levels of smoke and potential harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
