# Food prices in Ukrainian supermarkets on June 30: stability, bread price hike, and record discount on cereals

Tuesday, June 30, brought a general sense of calm to the shelves of Ukrainian supermarkets, however, an attentive shopper will notice a number of significant changes compared to the previous day. RBK-Ukraine analysts monitored prices for basic products, identifying both moments of stability and unexpected price spikes.

### Bread and eggs: from spikes to stabilization

One of the main events of Tuesday was the change in the cost of bread. While most items showed price stability just yesterday, a significant increase in the price of bakery products was recorded today in one of the major retail chains.

The situation with eggs also underwent changes. After the Silpo chain raised prices on this product on Monday, the situation leveled out on Tuesday. Nevertheless, Auchan continues to be the leader in terms of the most affordable egg prices, offering shoppers the most attractive conditions.

### Unique situation with cereals

The most interesting dynamics are observed in the grocery departments. The Silpo retail chain demonstrates a unique offer on the market: thanks to its own imports, the cost of cereals in this chain is almost four times lower than that of competitors. This creates a significant gap in pricing policies on store shelves.

### Dairy products and oil

The dairy sector is experiencing a 'calm'. All leading supermarkets have kept Monday's price tags, and no fluctuations in this category were recorded. A similar situation is observed with 0.5-liter refined oil: prices remain stable, with the exception of minor fluctuations in one of the chains.
